Shipping Coordinator - Maternity Leave Coverage

$22–$24/hour | Calgary, AB | Monday–Friday (6:30am – 3:00pm) | In Person | Maternity Coverage

The Opportunity

This is a role where details matter and follow-through is everything.

We’re looking for a Shipping Coordinator who takes ownership of the schedule, the details, and the customer experience. You’ll be the connection point between production, shipping, and the customer. When something is off, you catch it early. When communication is needed, you handle it clearly and professionally.

This is a 12-month maternity leave position with the potential to turn into a full-time, permanent opportunity for the right person.

About the Role

This role sits at the center of operations. You are responsible for keeping delivery schedules accurate, up to date, and clearly communicated at all times.

You’ll be managing a high volume of deliveries, confirming details with customers, coordinating with internal teams, and adjusting plans as things shift. It’s fast-paced and detail-driven. Mistakes show up quickly, so staying organized and proactive is key.

This is not a passive coordination role. It requires ownership, urgency, and strong communication to keep everything moving and ensure a smooth delivery experience.

Core Accountabilities

  • Maintain and update delivery schedules, ensuring accuracy at all times
  • Proactively contact customers to confirm delivery readiness and timing
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams regarding upcoming shipments and changes
  • Identify short shipments or discrepancies and take action to resolve them
  • Coordinate pick-ups and returns of racking and shipping materials
  • Prepare and distribute shipment lists to branch locations for review
  • Track completed deliveries and maintain accurate records
  • Support inventory-related tasks, including monthly counts or checks
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service through clear, professional communication
  • Stay organized and manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment

Qualifications & Ideal Candidate

  • 2+ years direct experience in a logistics, shipping, or delivery coordination role (not general administration)
  • Hands-on experience managing delivery schedules, order tracking, or coordinating multiple moving parts
  • Proven ability to handle high-volume coordination work with accuracy and consistency
  • Strong track record of communicating with customers or internal teams to confirm details, timelines, and changes
  • Highly detail-oriented. You consistently catch discrepancies before they become issues
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment where priorities shift
  • Able to work independently, stay organized, and follow through without constant direction
  • Confident managing different personalities while maintaining professionalism and clear expectations
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for your work
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or a product-based environment is a strong asset
