This is a hands-on role for someone who knows how to take drawings, break them down properly, and produce clean, accurate estimates that others can rely on.

As a Construction Estimator, you’ll be responsible for turning project drawings and specifications into detailed estimates and bid packages for our Windows and Doors division. Your work directly impacts what we win, how we price, and how well projects run.

You’ll work closely with Sales Representatives across Western Canada (BC and AB), giving you strong exposure to the sales process and how projects move from pricing to execution.

About the Role

You will review drawings, complete take-offs, and build accurate estimates for tendered and quoted work. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple bids at once, and the confidence to flag gaps or risks before they become problems.

You will also support the Sales team by providing clear, reliable pricing and scope details, and by adjusting estimates as projects evolve.

Core Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine full project scope
• Complete detailed material take-offs for Windows and Doors projects
• Prepare accurate estimates using in-house and industry software
• Build organized bid packages aligned with tender requirements
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and inconsistencies in drawings and specifications
• Work directly with Sales Representatives to clarify scope, pricing, and timelines
• Revise and update estimates based on addendums, design changes, and client feedback
• Track and manage multiple bids with competing deadlines
• Maintain organized documentation for all estimates and revisions

Qualifications & Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in construction estimating, take-offs, or a similar role
• Proven experience reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications
• Hands-on experience with estimating or take-off software (e.g., WinEst, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, or similar)
• Strong working knowledge of construction materials, measurements, and basic building methods
• Demonstrated ability to complete accurate quantity take-offs from drawings
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in previous roles (evident in estimating, drafting, or similar work)
• Experience managing multiple projects or bids at the same time with deadlines
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with experience working cross-functionally

Nice to Have:

• Experience estimating windows, doors, or building envelope products
• Experience supporting or working directly with Sales teams or bid processes
• Diploma or certificate in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field
